Structure, Intention, and Support for a Shamanic Journey
You want to make sure you have uninterrupted time, not only to journey, but also to journal and allow space for integration afterward. This work requires spaciousness in order to process and bring information into the realm of the known.
The intention here is to deepen the connection with our intuition and inner knowing, and to do so in a way that is in alignment with presence, safety, and containment. We are cultivating an experience that supports physical, emotional, and psychic safety, where sovereignty and deep interconnection can coexist in service of healing, clarity, and transformation.
The goals of this work include reorganizing our internal landscape, engaging our own healing process, and creating new neural pathways that support the growth we wish to embody in this life. Whether you see this process as a way of connecting with the divine or as accessing the subconscious mind, it is an innate human capacity, a birthright of inner navigation.
To move toward these goals, we rely on three foundational elements: intention, structure, and protocol.
Structure provides the containment that allow the journey to unfold safely. Intention provides the compass. And protocol…your personal and repeatable way of entering and navigating the journey space…is the vessel that carries you. But building a strong protocol is not something that happens all at once. It requires practice.
There are a series of journeys we take, not just one, that help us build trust in our process, deepen our intuitive connection, and establish a routine that becomes reliable over time. With continued engagement, that consistency becomes the very foundation that supports success. Plus, it’s fun!
Structure of a Shamanic Journey
1. Relax the body and quiet the mind.
2. Enter a trance state by utilizing percussion.
3. Engage your protocol for a supportive and reliable journey.
4. Enter N-O-R (Non-Ordinary Reality).
5. Activate your clairs.
6. Enter your power place.
7. Engage energetic hygiene.
8. Merge with your body protector.
9. Create or welcome your helping spirits.
10. Take your journey outside of your power place.
11. Let the callback of the drum return you.
12. Reorient to your body / reconnect with O-R (Ordinary Reality).
13. Journal.
14. Integration.
All you have to do is pop your earbuds in and listen. And practice building skills. Enjoy!
The following track is a basic 17m drums only audio recording that you can use for practicing the back journey protocols. If you haven’t engaged the journey titled “creating your power place,” or “merging with your body protectors,” you should do those first. They are embedded in the post titled Building Journey Protocol.
